The 16th Wireless and Mobile Networking Conference (WMNC 2025) is pleased to invite submissions for a special session on Drone and Counter-UAS. This session aims to bring together researchers, industry experts, and practitioners to share their latest findings, innovative solutions, and practical experiences in the rapidly evolving field of drone technology and counter-unmanned aerial systems (C-UAS).

Drones have become a transformative technology across multiple sectors, including logistics, agriculture, public safety, and defense. However, their widespread use also presents significant security, privacy, and operational challenges. This special session will focus on emerging research and technological advancements in drone communication, autonomous flight, and effective C-UAS systems.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
Drone communication and networking
Autonomous navigation and swarm coordination
Detection, tracking, and identification of drones
RF and radar-based drone localization
Electromagnetic signature analysis for drone identification
C-UAS mitigation techniques and strategies
AI and machine learning for drone threat assessment
Multi-sensor data fusion in C-UAS systems
Cybersecurity in drone systems
Standardization and regulatory challenges for UAS
Privacy and ethical considerations in drone technology
Real-world case studies and field trials

Information for authors
Authors are invited to submit original, unpublished research papers, not currently under consideration elsewhere. All submissions should follow the IEEE conference paper format and will be peer-reviewed based on originality, technical quality, and relevance to the session topics. The same procedure as described for the main conference applies to this special session.
Accepted papers will be published in the IFIP Digital Library and IEEE Xplore.
