Talk title: Cybersecurity in wireless networks in the 6G era
Biography
Valeria Loscri is research director at Inria Lille (France). She joined Inria since Oct. 2013. From Dec. 2006 to Sept. 2013, she was a Research Fellow in the TITAN Lab of the University of Calabria, Italy. She received her MSc and PhD degrees in Computer Science in 2003 and 2007, respectively, from the University of Calabria, and her HDR (Habilitation à diriger des recherches) in 2018 from Université de Lille (France). Her research interests focus on emerging technologies for new communication paradigms such as Visible Light Communication (VLC), mmWave, cybersecurity in wireless networks, and cooperation and coexistence of wireless heterogeneous devices. She is involved in the activity of several European Projects (Horizon Europe MLSysOps, H2020 CyberSANE, FP7 EU project VITAL, etc.) and National Projects such as the project ASTRID DEPOSIA, ANR NEMIoT. She is on the editorial board of IEEE COMST, IEEE Transactions on Information Forensics and Security (TIFS), Elsevier ComNet, and ComCom. She is serving as a TPC member in several primary international conferences, such as IEEE ESORICS, IEEE CNS, IEEE INFOCOM, and IEEE PerCom. She coordinated the research activities of several PhD students and postdocs. In 2021, she was nominated for Women Stars in Computer Networking and Communications by the IEEE Communications Society. She has been shortlisted as a Cyber Researcher by European Women Cyber Day - ECWD in 2024. She is Action Chair and Scientific Holder of BEiNG-WISE COST Action (https://beingwise.eu/) (since 2023). She has been European Partnership Scientific Delegate for Inria Lille since Oct. 2016 – Sept. 2019. She has been appointed as a member of the Technological Transfer Committee at Inria Lille (Oct. 2016 – Spet 2018). She was appointed as Evaluator Expert for Horizon European Projects, JU-SNS and JU-KDT (2023) and SNS-JU (2025). In 2024, she was appointed as chair of the expert panel for fundamental research W&T5 Computer Science & Information Technology FWO. From 2019 to September 2025, she served as Scientific International Delegate for Inria Lille. Since October 2025, she has been deputy scientific director at Inria.

Biography
Yang Miao (Senior Member, IEEE) received the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from the Radio Propagation Laboratory, Mobile Communications Research Group, Tokyo Institute of Technology, Tokyo, Japan, in 2012 and 2015, respectively. From 2010 to 2015, she was a Research Assistant with the Takada Laboratory, Tokyo Institute of Technology. From 2015 to 2018, she was a Postdoctoral Researcher with the Institute of Information and Communication Technologies, Electronics, and Applied Mathematics, Universite Catholique de Louvain, Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium, and IMEC, Wireless, Acoustics, Environment, and the Expert Systems Laboratory, Ghent University, Ghent, Belgium. From 2017 to 2018, she was a part-time Senior Antenna Engineer with Jaguar Radio Wave Corporation, Shenzhen, China. From 2018 to 2019, she was a Research Assistant Professor with the Southern University of Science and Technology, Shenzhen. From August 2019 to May 2024, she was an Assistant Professor. Since June 2024 she has been an Associate Professor with the Radio Systems Group, University of Twente, 4TU, The Netherlands. Since November 2021, she has been affiliated part-time with KU Leuven, Leuven, Belgium, as a Marie Curie Individual Fellow. Her research interests include joint communication and sensing, incorporating mobility, and human factors.
